March 7, 2011: To celebrate 100 years of International Women's History Month, Voices of Women partnered with Write Out Loud and UCSD on campus for a memorable event.  Six local professional actors delivered inspirational readings that ranged from the speech given at Tilbury by Queen Elizabeth I to a Latina woman's telling of her rape, to a heart-stopping piece entitled The Twain Story, an account of a female African American slave.  The event concluded with Native American Drumming and Song. VOW was honored to be featured as an Exemplary Organization at UCSD throughout March as part of the Chancellor's Volunteer50 Call to Community Service.
