When you hear the term “law enforcement” official do you envision a woman? Most likely you don’t. But it’s time we all did. We need women as well as men to keep our communities safe. Don’t believe, us? Listen to these interviews and you’ll be as convinced as we are.
You will hear that women bring different and necessary traits to this profession typically considered male-dominated. This strengthens our law enforcement. You will hear a common thread amongst these interviews; the importance of collaboration. Collaboration with community members, and with other law enforcement agencies. This is one of the best ways to reduce violence and keep the peace. Women generally excel at building trust and working inclusively with others, which serves to keep us all safe.
We want these interviews to give you a different view of law enforcement. And we want you to feel proud of San Diego’s law enforcement leaders who are ensuring the safety and well-being of our citizens. We certainly are proud and grateful to the women and men who have dedicated their careers to protecting our rights and security.
