Christina Prejean Biography

Christina Prejean served as an officer in United States Air Force for six years, achieving the rank of captain. From 2010 – 2011, Christina was deployed in Kabul, Afghanistan where she planned and executed 208 convoy missions. During this time, Prejean saw the dire need for women’s rights both for women serving in the military and for the Afghan Women. By working with national and international leaders, she developed a passion for progressing gender equality.

After her military service, Prejean returned to her native San Diego and earned a law degree from the University of San Diego.

Prejean now works for Protect our Defenders, a non-profit organization that prevents and addresses sexual assault and misconduct in the military. She represents active duty women and veterans who are survivors of sexual assault.

“In the wake of the #MeToo movement, I plan to build a new, revolutionary #WeToo movement, in which we build a society where we are all united, together, advancing the cause of social equality and justice for all,” Prejean said.

We commend Prejean for channeling her strength into empowering both women and men who serve our country.
